UAE First Aid Kit Contents: The Mandatory Checklist
Having a first aid box is not enough; it must be stocked with the correct items, and none of those items can be expired. Here is the definitive guide to what must be inside your workplace first aid kit in the UAE.
The Standard UAE Workplace Checklist
While specific items may scale up based on the size of your kit (10-person vs. 50-person), the following categories of items are universally required by Dubai Municipality and MOHAP:
Wound Care & Dressings
- Individually wrapped sterile adhesive dressings (Plasters)
- Sterile eye pads with attachments
- Triangular bandages (for slings/splints)
- Safety pins
- Medium and large sterile unmedicated wound dressings
Hygiene & Protection
- Disposable nitrile/latex gloves (multiple pairs)
- Alcohol-free cleansing wipes
- CPR face shield or pocket mask
- Medical waste disposal bags
What NOT to Include
It is a common misconception that first aid kits should contain medicines. Under UAE law, standard workplace first aid kits must NOT contain oral medications, painkillers (like Paracetamol or Aspirin), or medical creams. Dispensing medication without a clinical license is prohibited. If an employee needs painkillers, they must provide their own.
Industry-Specific Additions
If you operate a restaurant, you must include blue detectable plasters and burn dressings. If you operate a construction site or manufacturing facility, you must have industrial-grade eyewash stations, burn relief gels, and heavy trauma dressings.
Are Your Kits Expired?
First aid items expire. We offer complete refill packs to bring your existing boxes back up to compliance.
